To the GoDaddy Customer Support and Leadership Team, I'm writing to recognize an employee of yours named Kashawn (he may also go by Shawn) who provided me with OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE, and who I believe deserves real recognition — and maybe even a role in training other reps. I run a bounce house rental business (Bounce House guy), and for the past four to five years I've struggled with declining web traffic despite ranking in the top five search results for "bounce house guy" in my area of Reno & all surrounding areas. Over that time, I have spoken with numerous GoDaddy representatives about my website, and each time I mentioned that I don't take payments online, I was told I didn't need an SSL certificate. No one EVER explained that without an SSL, browsers flag a site as "not secure," which drives potential customers away before they ever see what I offer or I am. I had no idea this was quietly costing me business year after year. Kashawn was the first person to actually explain this to me in a way I could understand & he did it patiently, clearly, and without any pressure to buy something. He didn't talk to me like a salesman he spoke to me like someone who genuinely wanted to help me solve a problem SOMEONE WHO CARED. He asked me about my business, how I got into it, cracked a few jokes, and made the whole conversation feel human rather than transactional. He's only 33 & I have decades on him but he handled the conversation with a kind of calm, grounded patience that we adult seniors don't often encounter, especially from someone that young, comparatively speaking to my own age 😉. I've dealt with a lot of frustration over the years from feeling like I was given the runaround, and I know that frustration can be hard to sit with when you're the one representing the company on the other end of the phone call but Kashawn never took it personally he just listened, stayed calm, and helped me actually understand what was going on with my own website. GoDaddy has, from what I understand, a large customer support staff I'd strongly encourage you to hold Kashawn (Shawn) up as an example of what great support looks like & someone who actually knows how to listen first & explain clearly & doesn't pressure the customer, and treats people with genuine warmth. That approach is what turned a frustrating, years-long problem into a solved one, and it's what will keep customers like me loyal to GoDaddy going forward. Please pass along my thanks to Kashawn (Shawn) directly and please consider this a formal request that his approach be recognized and ideally used as a model in training future representatives. The platform is easy to figure out and use, even as a non-computer/design person. I was able to put the website together the way we wanted and set up tools we needed. I had an issue with a domain I purchased from another site and was struggling with my lack of skill and the AI assistant's "help". When I finally got a human to help, the problem was researched and thankfully fixed.
