I have used Shopify as a web business platform for several years, and have also bought items from other Shopify stores. I have a really hard time believing these low reviews. As a business owner I find the site platform is easy to use and setup, and cost effective. Its important that you set realistic ship times and communicate with your customer if you are going to be late shipping, realistic return policy and never promise more than you can deliver. As a customer I have found that when problems occur its the business not Shopify. Just my thoughts.

I couldn't believe it when I've actually gone into shopifys videos and saw how many people that have become anterprniors from shopify and I too would like tobecome after 20 years of searching I give them a five star and would eventually like to have my own business set up out there it's called Marketing Business Stragedy look forward to your reply I've never felt so good im 66 years old but I'm not giving up not now or ever

Awesome platform that is getting way too much hate for no reason. The shops work great and make sooo many processes easier, especially payment, that are not available with any other store provider.

Surprised to see all the negative reviews, but I have been using Shopify for almost a year now and it works like a charm. There is also a great ecosystem for support, that you can do so much with their platform

Wix is really easy to work with for a total novice. I had design ideas, but no coding experience. I wanted to build a classy, clean website with a customized feel - nothing boiler plate, using a special color palette. I thought it would be complicated, but it wasn't. I love using Wix. It's a bit of a learning curve, but I tend to be picky about having freedom to do what I see in my imagination. I started with a template, but quickly went with my own design. The flexibillity of that is amazing. I've been locked into other companies where you cannot do that. Very grateful for the flexibility. Had a couple of issues, and customer service was very helpful. Have had our website for over two years and love all the tools for evaluating traffic.

There's definitely a learning curve to grasp all the available features, but once you've identified what works best for your business, the platform becomes quite intuitive. I've been using WIX since August 2025 and have been particularly impressed with the web design flexibility, AI-driven social media post creation, and embedded Google Ads for traffic generation. That said, there's still much more to explore. One important consideration: many features operate on an add-on basis and require additional subscriptions beyond the base plan. The modular approach gives you flexibility, but it's worth factoring into your budget planning.

Honestly, the platform is fairly easy to use, but my business coach, years ago, had a tutorial on HOW to make the most of Wix via my specific business and how to make it more attractive to my target audience, and THAT is what really did me in. The user ability of the platform has given me 6 years of ease to update info, pricing, change the business address...simple things when someone else is hosting or building your site is so often so hard to do. But the success overall at what is attracting is because wix made it easy for someone smarter than me to make me a tutorial specific to my industry and now I can handle and build it all myself.

I've been using Wix to run my Online Watercolour School for nearly six years and I've been really pleased with the way I am able to control the look and function of my site without any in-depth knowledge of computing or coding. Designing my site was made easy with the use of handy templates ~ much of the process is quite intuitive to anyone who has fairly basic computer skills. There are lots of features that are available as add-ons too which means I've been able to create a personalised/tailored website. I use the CMS (Content Management System) a lot for uploading video tutorials and this is easy to navigate and I can upload and store large files (you need to be on a premium plan for this) but even when I first started on the basic plan I could do pretty much all I needed. The Wix help is good and I have used the online chat function when needed ~ I can't think of a time when they did not resolve any queries or issues I had. All in all a good experience ~I would recommend them especially if you are just starting out and don't know where to start!

I had a Go Daddy site in the past and it was very plug & play. However, now I find it over-riddled with options and ads; which is confusing. It's also extremely user-friendly to create the site and for our clients to navigate! 10/10 would recommend using SquareSpace for developing websites for a business. I don't sell products, so I can't say anything about that feature.

I was directed toward Squarespace by an online video describing a number of website design tools and the young lady recommended Squarespace. So I had a practice, learnt from many online tutorials and also Squarespace's own help and produced a brilliant website in a little over a week. Now, you can't expect to just jump in and build a website in a minute or two, you need to learn how the whole lot works. You have your website hosted by Squarespace and they'll provide email as well at extra cost (I use my own hosting service from another provider where all my mail is managed) but I'm sure there system is as good. Actually designing and building is so easy but FIRST do it on paper, set out what pages you need and sketch them out, this'll save you a ton of time. Once in there start messing around and I can tell you it is so so easy to get your pages looking great. And what I learnt as I went along was that you can design for PC Tablet and phone as you go. I am so impressed by how my site now looks. As for customer service, yes, it does take a while to get to email support but it does work and they are so so helpful, solving a number of issues I had along the way. So for someone looking for a straightforward website that can be up and running quite quickly I would definitely recommend Squarespace. I tried Wordpress but that is a serious learning curve, leave that for the pro web designers.

The Square chat people & email question people are great. I asked the chat guy about splitting affiliate marketing income 75-25 and how to set up Square for receiving XRP. In both cases they quickly said that the features were not available but they would send the suggestions to their product people.
