I’m 48 and just in the middle of going self-employed, so I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really sure what I was doing with all this invoicing and accounts stuff. Had an onboarding call with Fretzie and it’s made a big difference. She explained everything in a way that actually made sense, didn’t rush through it, and let me ask questions as we went along. I felt confident I was chatting it through with someone who knows their stuff, and not just being talked at. She gave me lots of tips that I can actually use for what I’m setting up. Once your know your way about the system it is very good

I love using Xero, it's just set up so well, everything flows and the Xero team are of great assistance when you need a little help.

Pound for pound, Xero punches above its weight. From intuitive bank recons and transaction prompts, to ready made real world-friendly financial reporting through simple to follow payroll, Xero stands head and shoulders above any accounting software currently available in the UK. As a qualified accountant, I have had access to and used most competing software, but none of them are as well rounded and polished as Xero. If that wasn’t enough, the online chat support when you have a question or problem is great, solving my queries promptly, rather than sending me to documentation that might or might not address my issue. All in all, a great accounting software package that is only missing the statutory reporting module, which is only available to accounting firms. However there are other places to go for this, but just a pity it is not available to non accounting businesses.

Easy to use, setup and then very detailed in its results.

Recently registered for VAT and moved onto Xero after previously just having my accounts done annually. I’ve now been using it for a couple of months and honestly think it’s excellent. It’s made managing paperwork, finances and VAT as a sole trader much more straightforward and organised. I did have one issue early on, but their support team resolved it within a few hours, which was very reassuring. There is a monthly cost, but in my opinion it’s well worth it for the time saved and overall visibility of the business finances. If you’re self-employed and looking to step up how you manage your accounts, I would definitely recommend Xero.

Xero is a very easy to work with accounting system and pricing for Not For Profit organisations is priced fairly.

I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. And when you can't figure it out, customer service is great and responsive.

I was almost the victim of a scammer. I reached out to Sage using google. Make sure to reach out using the program or the actual website. Sage is a fabulous program and their support is awesome, just don’t be fooled

I had phoned Sage in the morning and was surprised that the technical support was not as helpful as I had previously found. I have been using Sage since v.1 when it was on the square discs so I usually can follow their instructions without too many issues! I tried again in the afternoon having looked up a few points & spoke to someone different who was extremely helpful & walked me through the process in a pleasant & helpful manner. Still a huge fan of Sage as the easiest & most customieable software for most businesses.

Quick efficient problem solving

Had an ongoing problem that I couldn’t sort. Tried the Chat Assistant and eventually ended up speaking to a very helpful, knowledgeable lady from Sage. Sorted my problem out straight away even though I didn’t have telephone support. I’ve been using Sage for 30+ years and find it very simple and efficient to use.

I recently worked with Sage to implement Sage HR onboarding for the holiday and sickness section. Paul Jones was brilliant, he was clear with the instructions and was more than happy to work through my many questions. He knew everything about the system and nothing i asked was too much trouble. He has made the process easy and smooth and i am very happy with the service he has given.

The technician answered my call quickly and knew just what to do to fix my problem. He was patient and was able to get me back to printing from my Sage Accounting Program.

I’ve been using FreshBooks for one of my businesses for a number of years. I got stuck Formatting report and I called and got the help I needed immediately! Fast and easy!

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account. Very patient and I trusted him
