I was having some technical issues in doing my first VAT Returns for MTD and I panicked as I couldn't understand why Xero & HMRC wouldn't sync. Josh from Xero's Support Team, was an absolute legend because he professionally took his time with me by being understanding and guided me through what I needed to get everything set up. He certainly gets extra credit for being more patient with me knowing I had Autism as not many people in the Support work force aren't as nice or professional.

The onboarding call with Habib was extremely helpful, it was just a bit too short as it was 30 minutes only and before all the points I wanted to go through were covered Habib had to end the call to jump on another one. But Habib was able to answer my most urgent questions very quickly and through shared screen show me step-by-step approaches to differentiate between my self-employment income and rental income.

Excited to get started
Natascha reached out at the PERFECT time. I was literally looking at onboarding two cleanup projects, and was looking for other options than just sticking with QuickBooks the morning of our call. She stuck with me for almost half an hour, answering all of my questions and concerns about how the platform works, the intricacies and the “what ifs”. After our call, I’m exciting to say I’ll be onboarding two of my newest clients into Xero. If all goes well, I have a feeling my practice will be moving platforms all together. ⭐ Wish I'd booked the onboarding call sooner!
Dara was friendly and made me feel at ease straight away for my onboarding call. I never felt like any question was too silly, which was especially helpful as I was getting to grips with some of the finer details of Xero. He adapted seamlessly when I couldn't screen share and we quickly found a workaround by doing the Zoom call on my phone while I worked through Xero on my laptop. His instructions were clear, easy to follow and tailored to what I needed. One of my biggest takeaways was discovering Cash Coding, which is going to make my bookkeeping much more efficient moving forward. Before the call, I'd already spent time working through Xero's help resources and trying to figure things out myself but having a real person there to answer questions and provide clarity was invaluable. In fact, I only wish I'd booked the onboarding call sooner! The session also introduced me to features and shortcuts I hadn't come across yet, making it a really worthwhile use of time. I have been using Gusto for 2 years now. As I bring on clients I insist they switch to Gusto if they are with a different processor. Gusto has been attentive, helpful, quick, and accurate for me and I did not find those qualities in other companies. The low price helps as well. My clients are small businesses with less than 10 employees.

I have been using Gusto for the past 2 years but approximately 5-6 weeks ago I stopped receiving the verification text that’s required for login. I have gone round and round between Gusto Customer Service staff and my employer was at its wits end because nothing had changed. Well, my employer refused to just give up but it was a Customer Service Representative named Riva that had the patience and Integrity to resolve this issue. I hate to admit but the error was mine but I didn’t know and no one else took the time to have me go through every possible scenario until the situation was resolved and fixed. I learned something new today, Integrity still Exists!! Thanks Riva

Good for my S Corp payroll
I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. And when you can't figure it out, customer service is great and responsive.

Further onboarding
Excellent session today with Matt. Unfortunately I did have a session booked in last week with another sage employee however they had left the business. I was impressed that Sage managed to turn this round and offer me an alternative slot so quickly. It was a further HR onboarding session so I came armed with questions which were all answered straight away and very clearly. I found sharing my screen really helpful as I could actually do the tasks advised while being instructed. Hopeful I can now go away and use the software as we need to. Thanks again! :)

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account. Very patient and I trusted him
