As a sole trader we are coming to the new tax year & with HMRC now requiring sole traders / self employed & landlords to complete MTD (Making Tax Digital) quarterly returns via a digital software package, it came to the point I needed to opt for a compatible software package, I opted for QuickBooks Sole Trader. Today I had my onboarding session with one of the Customer Success Experts. I could not have asked more from the expert, she explained everything in detail & left me with full confidence that I will be able to transition easily to MTD & also left me with confidence that I had completed things correctly prior to our onboarding meeting. I am very satisfied with what I have learnt, been shown & ease of use. I believe that the transition to MTD will be a fairly easy process. Easy to use, easy to manage. I love features like notes and you can customize your accounting to your own needs. Also a really good part is the cloud-based system, you can use it from anywhere.

Easy to understand, smart workflows and a professional support. Xero gives Small Business owners the opportunity to do their bookkeeoing by themselves, while also working with an account, and yet staying in full control of their most important business data. Handling various different currency accounts, no headache when it comes to reconcile transactions and being able to file directly to HMRC, makes bookkeeping a positive experience. Totally recommend Xero.

I have recently changed to Xero after more than 25 years using a different software company. The support team at Xero are amazing! I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. Sage is great business accounting software that I have used for 18 years for all my businesses. Sage offers great customer support and if you are ever in a bind they will generally have the issue resolved the same day.

I purchased a new Sage program and had to call to register for an account ID and Key code. I left my phone number for a call back. I received the call back within a couple minutes. Customer agent Nontle was amazing. She was professional and very knowledgeable. She helped me from start to the end when I got the "Activation Complete" message. And the whole process took much less time than I anticipated.

I had an issue trying to correct a mistake I’d made on Sage cloud accounting. I rang their technical support team and the young man Joshua helped me to resolve said issue very quickly and comprehensively. I’ve been using FreshBooks for one of my businesses for a number of years. I got stuck Formatting report and I called and got the help I needed immediately! Fast and easy!

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account. Very patient and I trusted him
