I have had fantastic help from Xero today. It started with online chat help from Jacqueline (support Specialist) who came on immediately I clicked for help. She was really helpful and said that as the solution to my problem was detailed, she would pass it through as a Case Study. I then had a request to receive a phone call to discuss. Exactly on time ( at my requested time), I had a call from Qudsia (support specialist). She could not have been more helpful. Although a technical discussion she was so patient with me and ensured I was happy. It was followed up with written notes. I am so grateful for the help and professionalism that I received today from Xero.

The support from the Xero team was excellent. I contacted them and they were very responsive, which was great as the problem related to banking connections. The instructions to follow were very clear and easy to understand. When the first solution did not work I was able to book a phone call for the next morning within a specific time slot: the person who called was very helpful and resolved my problem very quickly and also an extra one during a remote session. I thought this was great customer service and certainly a lot better than experiences with other services.

Good for my S Corp payroll
I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. Sage HR Onboarding
We made a decision as a business to move to Sage HR just before Christmas, with an unrealistic self imposed deadline of having it all up and running for January 2026. Even with such a tight timeframe, Philip Daly & his team in Sage HR worked to arrange multiple sessions right up to Christmas Eve, and again first day back in New Year to get us up and running. The Onboarding has been really useful in demonstrating the full functionality of the software, and I can see how it will be a time saving investment for the Company.
