I needed accounting software for HMRC's new Making Tax Digital quarterly submissions for self-employed sole traders, and plumped for Intuit Quickbooks. Have just had a helpful onboarding phone call. From what I have seen so far I am reassured that this choice of commercial software is a good one.

Very helpful staff, got me set up and ready for work.

It all seemed overwhelming at first, but I had a 1-on-1 with Jaeh that lasted an hour, and that helped me see the bigger picture before tackling the minutiae. This has given me confidence to place my business in QuickBooks' hands.

I recently upgraded from QBSE to QBO and was really unsure of the new interface. But was put at ease with a great 1-on-1 onboarding session with a member of Intuit's customer service team, Valery. She was very understanding and went above and beyond what I expected of her. Highly recommend the service to anyone in a similar situation!

I had a recent on boarding session from Quickbooks. The trainer was very patient and knowledgeable. I now have a greater understanding of this accounting software which I need now that digital records are required by HMRC.

We've used Quickbooks ever since it was Quicken and running on DOS in the 1980's, so we've seen all the improvements and development over the years. It's always been user friendly, effective and reliable. Our recent interaction with the helpline to resolve a VAT MTD issue in the UK sums up the current system as it was flawless and slick. ;-)

Having it as a Zoom tutorial involving the key people on our organisation who will be using Quickbooks was extremely useful.

Easy to use and integrates well with my other systems

I love the way Xero helps me run my small business. Hopefully, they can keep the cost structure for small businesses manageable.

I recently attended an onboarding session with Xero and had the pleasure of working with Summer Kimpton. She was friendly, polite, and most importantly, highly competent. She explained everything clearly and efficiently, without wasting time, which I really appreciated. It was evident that she values time and understands the needs of small business owners. What stood out most was that she didn’t just rush through the session or leave us with a brief overview. Instead, she made sure we understood our options for ongoing support and even reassured us that we could reach out to her directly via email at any time. That level of support made a big difference. Overall, the pricing for the first six months is very reasonable and well suited for small businesses. I do hope that Xero will consider offering more flexible or attractive packages beyond the initial six month period to continue supporting small businesses as they grow. A very positive experience overall.

Sam contacted me within an hour or two after I emailed the problems I encountered. He guided over the phone to do the setup step by step. Within 30 minutes, or shorter, the problem was solved. Thank you very much.

Xero is by far the most intuitive and user-friendly accounting software I’ve used. Their discounted pricing for not-for-profit organisations is very reasonable, and when I needed support, my issue was resolved quickly and efficiently.

I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. And when you can't figure it out, customer service is great and responsive.

I find Gusto's interface to be intuitive and easy to navigate. Whatever questions I'm not able to get answered in their help section I'm able to get wonderful support through Gusto's friendly staff.

I’ve recently been working on modernising our payroll processes, as we’ve been very manual for a long time. I’ve had a few 1 to 1 sessions with Natalie Cade, and she has been amazing. She has helped me to transform my payroll process massively, and is always offering extra support and guidance outside of the sessions even though I know it is a very busy time of the year. I genuinely can’t thank her enough. She has made my role ten times easier by helping me implement pay elements, pension schemes, and so many other features I didn’t even realise I could use. Her knowledge and patience has made such a positive difference, and I’m incredibly grateful for all her help.

I’ve been using FreshBooks for one of my businesses for a number of years. I got stuck Formatting report and I called and got the help I needed immediately! Fast and easy!

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account. Very patient and I trusted him
