QuickBooks for MTD
As a sole trader we are coming to the new tax year & with HMRC now requiring sole traders / self employed & landlords to complete MTD (Making Tax Digital) quarterly returns via a digital software package, it came to the point I needed to opt for a compatible software package, I opted for QuickBooks Sole Trader. Today I had my onboarding session with one of the Customer Success Experts. I could not have asked more from the expert, she explained everything in detail & left me with full confidence that I will be able to transition easily to MTD & also left me with confidence that I had completed things correctly prior to our onboarding meeting. I am very satisfied with what I have learnt, been shown & ease of use. I believe that the transition to MTD will be a fairly easy process. I use Xero on a daily basis for my business accounting and it has been an excellent experience. The system is very intuitive, well designed and extremely practical for managing finances, invoices and expenses. Everything is organised clearly, which saves a lot of time and makes the whole accounting process much more efficient. Good for my S Corp payroll
I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. Sage 50 Accounts Company Login Issue After using Sage support online documents to troubleshoot issue we were experiencing with logging into one of our RDA companies, in the end had to contact Sage Support Team. Our case was assigned to Ellen, who was very helpful and friendly on the phone and discussed in great steps I'd already taken to see if there were any additional measure I could take. She decided that running some internal support tool would more than likely resolve issue, so after allowing remote access, within 5 minutes we were back up and running, she remained on whilst checking which was greatly appreciated. All I can say is this is how support desks should operate, the perfect customer experience, thanks once again :)

We had a session today with Paul, who helped us with setting up Sage HR, and it was brilliant. He has excellent knowledge of the system, is open to listening and understanding our needs, and proposes solutions that work perfectly for us. Our charity is implementing three Sage products at the same time: Sage Payroll and HR with support directly from the Sage team, and Sage Intacct with support from a Sage partner. My team's opinion is that Sage's support is much superior to what we are receiving from Sage partners. The product is still good, but if we had known how bad our onboarding team is with Sage Intacct, we would not have bought it.

Sage-Reopened my Account
Sage, was able to reopen my account in a very fast period of time. Sage(Vuyo) Was very courteous and professional and patient. He was able to confidently and patiently guide me through the process of being able to get my account back online. He did a super job. I had a stroke in January 2025 and was unable to remember how to log into my account but he was able to verify my account and validate my authority to access my details on the portal. I’m so pleased with the outcome of what he has done well he with the rest of his team if everybody work this good there will be no problems with the company thank you young man. Vuyo, was able to reopen my account in a very fast period of time. Vuyo Was very courteous and professional and patient. He was able to confidently and patiently guide me through the process of being able to get my account back online. He did a super job. thank God that he was able to open the details for me. I had verification on the account which was stopping me from being able to move forward and by putting a pause on the validation I was able to use a QR code to move forward and so I am very much grateful that he was able to work with his team and get me access to the account

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account.
