We contacted Intuit support and spoke with CJ, who was incredibly helpful throughout. As new users of QuickBooks, we needed guidance navigating the system and understanding some of the accounting functions. Our balance sheet wasn't looking quite right, and we were struggling with the correct way to categorise expenses and receipts. CJ was patient, knowledgeable and genuinely committed to helping us. XERO is full of excellent support
I'm so happy we chose XERO. I looked and trained in all the usual accounting packages before we decided who to go with. XERO is easy to use and there is so much guidance on the help function with AI integration and if that doesn't solve your issue there is an option to raise a case and someone actually calls you and talks you through - best thing they look at your case and query before you even call so you don't have to go through it all again. I set up our accounts and payroll from scratch which I have never done and am not fully qualified. We pay our VAT online and now have set up auto integration for our pensions too - it all adds to your confidence I can't fault it at all.

I highly recommend Xero to all UK companies with a turnover below £7m
I use Xero with all of my clients. It is user friendly, highly customisable and a competitively priced package. Software support has always prompt and answered my queries. There are cheaper packages out there but these all have serious drawbacks. As UK's leading small company accounting package it is easy finding potential employees with experience.

I was worried about the new mtd but have found the Xero AP on the whole straight forward. Having an initial zoom meeting was ideal to get started. Since then if I’ve had a query or problem I’ve been able to easily communicate with an advisor and get the help I needed.

I have been using Gusto for 2 years now. As I bring on clients I insist they switch to Gusto if they are with a different processor. Gusto has been attentive, helpful, quick, and accurate for me and I did not find those qualities in other companies. The low price helps as well. My clients are small businesses with less than 10 employees.

I have been using Gusto for the past 2 years but approximately 5-6 weeks ago I stopped receiving the verification text that’s required for login. I have gone round and round between Gusto Customer Service staff and my employer was at its wits end because nothing had changed. Well, my employer refused to just give up but it was a Customer Service Representative named Riva that had the patience and Integrity to resolve this issue. I hate to admit but the error was mine but I didn’t know and no one else took the time to have me go through every possible scenario until the situation was resolved and fixed. I learned something new today, Integrity still Exists!! Thanks Riva

Good for my S Corp payroll
I elected S corp status for my agency earlier this year and quickly realized I was in over my head with the payroll requirements. You can't just pay yourself however you want anymore - you need "reasonable salary," withholdings, quarterly taxes. I'm not an accountant but Gusto walked me through everything. The setup process helped me figure out what a reasonable salary should be based on my industry and revenue, set up the withholdings, and got me registered with the state tax agency. Took maybe an hour total. The payroll runs automatically on my schedule. Taxes get calculated, withheld, and paid automatically. Easy to pay yourself both salary (with taxes) and distributions (without payroll taxes). You can do both from the same dashboard. This was confusing as hell when I was researching how S corps work, but Gusto makes it simple. If you're a solo founder or small agency owner who just elected S corp status, don't try to DIY this.

Every aspect of using Gusto from setting up in the platform, onboarding employees, and running payroll has been exceptional. I switched from Paychex which was a complete nightmare and I am so happy that I did. Gusto makes it so easy to handle everything on your own including an incredibly helpful AI chatbot. I have been using SAGE for 9 years now
I have been using SAGE for 9 years in my business and simply love it. Accounting has become so easy, i dont have to pay an accountant any more. When i have to do my VAT return i run 2 simple reports and all the codes in there matches the revenue codes, so i just transcribe the numbers. For my annual report i also run 2 reports and same - just transcribe. Support must rate amongst the best in the world. And i should know - i spent 18 years in tech support earlier in my life.

CIS element of SAGE
I had a few specific queries regarding the CIS element of the SAGE package. James Summerside was extremely helpful. He was able to show me how to correct my mistake that I had made. What happens to the nominal codes when dealing with the CIS tax from contractors and subcontractors. It was very reassuring that what i was doing, so far, was correct, in regards to nominal codes and tax codes. Also, James guided me to some further help pages within SAGE and how to book any further help with CIS. This was a massive help - thank you.

I called Sage this morning as wanted their guidance with restoring my Accounts records following a new back up. I am not at all tech savvy and found their help this morning invaluable in not only restoring the new back up but also my version needed to be updated so that our system was compatible again. Spoke to a lovely guy called Andrew who installed the new version while we waited on the phone and made sure that it was all working properly after. This is the reason I stick with Sage as there is always someone to speak to who know exactly what they are doing and never make you feel that you are an inconvenience!!

I thought my account had been hacked when an alternative email showed up in my saved passwords and I thought I had been hacked. When I called the tech listened, understood, consulted with a colleague (second set of eyes concerning my inquiry), and assured me that the account was secure and the email was correct. He explained that sometimes a different email address and password can pop up when logging on another website. All account information was verify and nothing was changed in the account. Very patient and I trusted him
